Zusatzinformation: ~In May 1927, Resphighi and his wife Elsa, visited Brazil for programs of his music in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. As the French composer Darius Milhaud a decade earlier, Respighi was fascinated with the country’s indigenous music, and he collected several melodies for use in his three Brazilian Impressions, composed in Rome later that year. Canzone e danza (song and dance) is the finale from Brazilian Impression and is based on bright spirits and includes a swaying song and a vigurous dance in the traditional Brazilian manner.
