Laurie Lafferty, stellvertretende Gastprofessorin der Musikerziehung an der "University of Akron" unterrichtete 23 Jahre lang Instrumentalmusik in den öffentlichen Schulen in Ohio. Darunter auch 17 Jahre lang im "Buckeye Local School District", in Ashtabula, Ohio. Während ihrer Lehramtstätigkeit, erzielten ihre Highschoolbands immer sehr gute Resultate bei den Wettbewerben. Ihre Hornensembles und Bands haben sowohl bei lokalen, staatlichen wie auch nationalen Konferenzen teilgenommen. Frau Lafferty erhielt ihren "Bachelor of Music Education degree" am "Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music" und ein "Masters of Music Education" an der "Youngstown State University". Als aktives Mitglied an der "Ohio Music Education Association" ist sie schon lange tätig und auch als Jurymitglied, Gastdirigentin und Gastvortragende hat sie sich bei Festivals und Konferenzen in ganz Ohio einen guten Namen gemacht. Zusätzlich wurden ihre Artikel über Musikerziehung in "The Instrumentalist", "The Band Director's Guide", "The Triad" und "Contributions to Music Educations" veröffentlicht. Laurie Lafferty lebt mit ihrem Mann Charles und den beiden Söhnen Alex und John in Conneaut, Ohio.

Laurie Lafferty, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Akron, taught instrumental music in Ohio Public School for 23 years, including 17 years in the Buckeye Local School District, Ashtabula, Ohio. Throughout her teaching career, her junior high and high school bands consistently received superior ratings at Ohio Music Education Association sponsored competitions. Her bands and horn ensembles have performed at local, state, and national conferences. Mrs. Lafferty received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music and a Masters of Music Education from Youngstown State University, pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education. She is an active member of the Ohio Music Education Association and has served as adjudicator, guest conductor, and guest clinician for honour band festivals and conferences throughout Ohio. In addition, her articles on music education have been published in "The Instrumentalist", "The Band Director's Guide", "The Triad", and "Contributions to Music Education". She resides in Conneaut, Ohio with her husband Charles and two sons, Alex and John
