David Jackson wurde 1957 in London geboren. Nachdem er das Gymnasium absolviert hatte trat er 1976 in die Militärkapelle "The Alamein Staff Band of the Royal Tank Regiment" ein. Mit dieser Kapelle machte er viele Reisen in Nord und Westeuropa. Nach einigen Jahren kehrte er nach England zurück und während drei Jahren studierte er an der Militärmusikschule Kneller Hall in den Fächern Oboe, Saxophon und Arrangieren für Blasorchester.

David Jackson was born in London 1957. He joined in 1976 the Alamein Staff Band of the Royal Tank Regiment and performed with this band throughout North West Europe. He returned to England and studied for three years at the Kneller Hall Military School of Music. He plays oboe, saxophone and specializes in composing and arranging for band. He is currently musical director of the Burnham Concert Band.
