David Shaffer wurde in Columbus, Ohio geboren und besuchte die Grove City High School in Grove City, Ohio. Er erhielt das "Bachelor Degree" an der Ohio State University und ein "Master of Music Degree" an der Miami University in Ohio. Herr Shaffer hat in den Ohio Gemeinschaften von Hamilton, Northridge und Wyoming unterrichtet. Derzeit ist er Assistentdirektor und Musikarrangeur für die Miami University Marching Band und er arbeitet als freischaffender Komponist, Arrangeur und Vortragender. David Shaffer's Kompositionen werden bei Vorträgen und Musikfestivals weltweit verwendet und wurden auf vielen Aufführungslisten angeführt. Herr Shaffer hat Vorträge und Musikfestivals in den Vereinigten Staaten und Canada geleitet und er ist als Vortragender ständig gefragt. Während des Sommers 1986 und 1992 hat er als Instrumentaldirektor für die "Saskatchewan School of Fine arts" gearbeitet.

David Shaffer was born in Columbus, Ohio, and attended Grove City High School, Grove City, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor Degree from the Ohio State University and a Master of Music Degree from Miami University (Ohio). Mr. Shaffer has taught in the Ohio communities of Hamilton, Northridge and Wyoming. Currently he is the assistant director and principal music arranger for the Miami University (Ohio) Marching Band and is a free-lance composer/arranger/clinician. Mr. Shaffer's compositions have been used at clinics and music festivals around the world and have been placed on many state contest required performance lists. Mr. Shaffer has conducted new music reading clinics and music festivals across the United States and Canada and is in constant demand as an educational clinician. During the summers of 1986 and 1992 he served as instrumental director for the Saskatchewan School of Fine arts.
